Kia ora.
I am Reetta. A curious human being, mum, doctor and deep inside, always, a dancer.
This blog is actually a set of random, illustrated letters from New Zealand where we currently live with my family, husband and two kids (3&6 years). We come from Porvoo, Finland. We left our lovely 1780-built pink wooden house in October 2022 to move temporarily to Christchurch, New Zealand.
My medical education is from Finland where I studied medicine in the University of Helsinki. I graduated medical school in 2011. My paths have gone through anaestesiology to primary care in Lapland, way above the Arctic Circle, to pre-hospital experience on ground and in the air. I am still an emergency medicine trainee, done with exams, on the last stretch (that will likely have its twists and turns) to become a specialist.
My previous education in dance, MFA in dance, and MA in kinesiology or functional, biomechanical, anatomy have shaped me. I am deeply and honestly one who experiences life through movement, music and subtle expression. Human interaction is endlessly intriguing. Today I also get to learn life through being a mother and a wife. Life is full with colors and moods, urgencies, movement and still moments.
I am not only sharing this trip in writing, but photos taken by me to keep the copyrights simple.
Writing may be a new passion of mine, but that shall remain to be confirmed, well, by writing.
Sincerely, Reetta
